Go down a coalmine at Hopewell Colliery.

 

Travel to Gloucester with its Docks shopping area, Waterways Museum, Antique Centre and interactive museum of army life, Soldiers Of Gloucestershire www.glosters.org.uk. On the way visit Hart’s Barn Craft Centre  or the Mohair Centre for farm animals www.fweb.org.uk/hartsbarn www.mohaircentre.net.

 

Monmouth, Offa’s Dyke and the River Wye, Ross-on -Wye and Hereford, Tintern and Chepstow with its racecourse are all within about ½ hours drive. It may be, however, that you will not want to leave the peace and quiet of this lovely location but prefer to put your feet up and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of the house and garden.
